Oil & wax paintings
For four decades artist Jeffrey Becom has alternated between painting and photography. His sensibilities lie squarely in the colorist realm, with each medium advancing the other. In contrast to his documentary approach with a camera—recording painted architectural color traditions around the globe—his oil & wax painting method is intuitive, reflecting decisions made with an expressionist’s eye. These jewel-like paintings capture California’s Central Coast and architectural heritage in every season for the past thirty years.
